New Feature Takes Financial Transparency to the Next Level

To provide employees with even more financial transparency – just in time for the holiday rush – the new Shifts tab feature is now available to all DailyPay users.

Expanding on the popular “Pay Balance” feature, the new Shifts tab helps users understand how much they’ve earned per shift, and how much of their earnings are available before payday per shift.

With hourly workers in mind, this new feature provides employees with an extra layer of transparency that gives them deeper clarity into every hour worked and every penny earned.

“The value of the DailyPay app goes beyond just access to earned wages ahead of payday; for many of our users, it’s a critical tool for tracking their earnings,” said Darlene Miranda, Vice President, UX Design and Research at DailyPay.

DailyPay research shows that 57% of users who work hourly check their earned wages in their DailyPay Balance five or more times per week, demonstrating the importance of financial transparency.

In the past, users could log in to the app to see how much of their earned wages were available before payday. Now with this shift-first view, employees can see this same information along with their total gross earnings per shift, how much money is expected to be withheld, whether their pay has been processed, how much pay from each shift is available and how many hours worked per shift.

Now DailyPay users can benefit from full transparency into their hours worked with this new feature. Users can be confident knowing all of their worked hours will be accurately reported and displayed.

To access the new feature, users just tap “View Balance Summary” on the home screen, tap “View All Balance and Shift Details” and then tap the “Shifts” tab. Each Shift has its own page that displays gross earnings, estimated withholdings and the increase to the Available Balance for that shift.

“With visibility into shifts, we’re providing a clear breakdown of each shift worked, updated daily,” said Miranda. “This helps our users proactively answer questions like, ‘How much have I made today? How much have I made this pay period?’”

This shift-first view of earned wages gives hourly workers a new feature that helps them take greater control of their finances and inspires winning work behavior. A survey conducted by DailyPay found that 56% of users say DailyPay motivates them to pick up more shifts or work longer hours.

It’s a privilege to help equip employees with a new feature that provides deeper clarity and insight into their hours worked, money earned and spending power.

This clarity allows for better financial control, which gives rise to better options to choose from when faced with difficult financial decisions.
